Career
is the lifelong process of managing learning and work in order to live and work with purpose and create a quality life (Lynne Bezansow, 2003).
Career Development
is a lifelong process of managing progression in learning and work. The quality of the process significantly determines the nature and quality of individuals’ lives: the kind of people they become, the sense of purpose they have, the income at their disposal, the social and economic contribution they make to the communities and societies of which they are a part. (OECD).
Career Development
is the total combination of psychological, sociological, educational, physical, economic and chance factors that influence the nature and significance of work in the total life span of an individual.
Career Guidance
is defined as services and activities intended to assist individuals of any age and at any point throughout their lives, to make educational, training and occupational choices and to manage their careers.
Career Counselling
helps people to clarify their immediate employment goals, understand and access job and skill-training opportunities, and learn the skills needed to look for and maintain employment (e.g. CV or resume writing, interview skills).
Career Coaching
is the process of assisting persons in job exploration. Career coaches are there to discuss and resolve obstacles to employment and career success and to prepare individuals to competitively interview, negotiate compensation and evaluate offers.
