Welcome to the United Theological College of the West Indies
The United Theological College of the West Indies (UTCWI) is an ecumenical seminary training male and female clergy for Protestant denominations throughout the Caribbean.The college was founded in 1965 and dedicated in 1966. It moved to its current, custom-built site adjacent to University of the West Indies (UWI) Mona campus in the early 1970s. The Roman Catholic St. Michael’s Theological College was built alongside at the same time. It is affiliated to the University of the West Indies, forming the Department of Theology in the Faculty of Arts and Education (formerly Arts and General Studies).
The United Theological College of the West Indies currently offers eight major academic programmes,five of which lead to University of the West Indies awards,two to its own awards,and one that is done jointly with Columbia Theological Seminary. Below you will find a list of all eight academic programmes.

Tuition
Fees for the academic year
Fees (full time).............. .......J$ 135, 000 per semester Full time students are allowed to register for 5 courses per semester; any other needs approval from the Dean of studies Cost of identification ............................J$ 500.00 for the duration of the programme
Cost per credit hour ..........................J$ 9,000.00
Cost for three credits .........................J$ 27,000.00
This cost applies to part time and occasional students. A part time student is allowed to register for a maximum of 3 courses. University of the West Indies students who are pursuing a degree in theology will be required to pay the full tuition costs at UTCWI and an additional affiliation fee to the university of the West Indies J$ 57,547.00 per year.

Candidates for admission should normally apply by January 31 of the year in which they intend to enter the College. The minimum qualification for entry into the Diploma Programme is five (5) G.C.E. ‘O’ levels or CXC, or some reasonable equivalent acceptable to the college. However, from time to time candidates are Specially Admitted on the recommendation of their churches for special programmes.
